Recreation

The Town of Drexel contracts with Burke County Parks and Recreation to provide programs at the R.O. Huffman Center in Drexel. Baseball, soccer, football and basketball are offered to the area youth throughout the year. Additional information about programs and events can be obtained by contacting the Staff of the R.O. Other Community Events

• Hallyburton Elementary 5K Spring Run
  Every May the Elementary School organizes a 5K run for area runners. 

• Spring Carnival
  The Drexel Fair Board puts on a carnival each May at the Drexel Fairgrounds. The Carnival has rides, games, food and fun for the whole family. The carnival runs for one week and admission is free.

• Annual Fall Fair
  In August, the Drexel Fair Board organizes an agricultural fair that has received accolades from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. The fair lasts one week and offers rides, games, exhibits, music and much more. The Drexel Fair is almost sixty years old and admission is free.
